2010 Pennsylvania Youth Hunter Education Challenge

Information has been updated on the 2010 page

 

Ø The following shotgun ammunition will be used at the PA State event on June 19th

12ga 7 1/2 shot 1 1/8oz 3 dram Estate

20ga 7 1/2 shot 7/8 oz 2 1/2dram Estate

Ø We are not using the NRA’s Hunter’s Guide at the PA State Event.  We are using the PA Hunter-Trapper Manual.

Ø Age notice:  Please note that 19 year old participants are currently eligible for the PA State Event; however, they are not eligible for the NRA International Event

The " YHEC " Program, as it is known, is a chance for young hunters to participate in a simulated hunting competition amongst kids in their own age group from throughout Pennsylvania. There are prizes for the " TOP GUNS " but the real prize is taking the challenge. 3-D Archery, Muzzleloader, Light Rifle, Sporting Clays, and a Hunter Responsibility Exam are the challenges.
