Pennsylvania Youth Hunter Education Challenge
2001

Saturday, June 16, 2001
Scotia Range, State College, PA

The 2001 PA YHEC was another great adventure for the participants. This day would not
have been possible without the support of an outstanding group of dedicated volunteers.
Here are just a few of the more than 60 folks who worked tirelessly to make
the 2001 PA YHEC a safe and successful experience for the approximately 150
kids who "took the challenge."

Our new PA Champions have been crowned and will soon be on there way to
Raton, New Mexico to compete in the International YHEC.

The PA YHEC always starts right here!
The Hunter Responsibility Exam !!

The YHEC Kids need a sharp pencil and a sharp eye before they hit the ranges.
That's the PA Games Commission's Director of Hunter Trapper Education,
Keith Snyder reading the questions.

PA Game Commission's own WCO Ken Packard returns year after year
to run the 3-D Archery event with the aid of The United Bowhunters
Of Pennsylvania and a few other good folks who come back year after year
to make this a successful outing for the YHEC kids.

The Muzzleloader Event had many tie scores amongst the top
competitors.

The Fox, the Squirrel, and the Rabbit were, as always very challenging
at the Rifle Event.

A little bit of rain didn't dampen anyone's spirit during the day as
the kids took on the Sporting Clays Challenge
